You sell different Region DVDs, how do I know what will work with my system:

When DVD was first established, the movie companies wanted to be able to stagger the release of their titles around the world, so for example, a DVD may be released in North America and European buyers wouldn't be able to play this DVD on their systems, they had to wait until the DVD is released for their region. The vast majority of our titles are Region 2 as we are a United Kingdom based company.

How many regions are there and what are they :

There are 6 regions in total:-

REGION 1: USA and Canada
REGION 2: Europe, Japan, South Africa, Middle East
REGION 3: South-East Asia
REGION 4: Central and South America, Australia, New Zealand
REGION 5: Former Soviet Union, India, Pakistan, Africa
REGION 6: China

Region 0, "All Regions" or "Region Free" means the disc has no regional restriction and will play on any DVD player worldwide.

I have a multi region player, so no problems there:

Well.... 99.99% of the time no problem. There are a few titles (mostly Region 1 as far as we know) which have RCE protection against multi region players. Apparently Charlie's Angels starring Cameron Diaz on Region 1 is just such a title. RCE has met with a chilly reception by the DVD buying public so it seems it may be being phased out as time goes on.

RCE, what's RCE:

RCE stands for Regional Coding Enhancement (see about Charlie's Angels above). Basically (in theory !!) if you have a multi region player and insert an RCE disc, the disc can tell your DVD player is multi region and will not work, but it's not foolproof, many multi region players can actually play them. RCE discs are less common nowadays.

Can I return a disc which is not compatible with my system:

Sorry, no. We clearly mark all listings with their relevant regions and it is up to you the buyer to ensure you get what's right for you. That's why this information is here to ensure you are familiar with the technology before making a purchase.
